I'm Jamie,

The Photographer

Hey, I’m Jamie. I’ve been a photographer for over a decade now. But the truth is, I didn’t realize just how important photographs were until my family experienced loss of my Ah Mah & Ah Gong. Every time I’m out photographing a couple or family, I’m reminded about why we hold milestones close to our hearts and why we celebrate with every ounce of our being. I’m so grateful to have wonderful clients who treasure documentary photography as much as I do. Images they can look back on and not only see but feel.

The Storyteller

If you look through the images in my portfolio, you’ll notice they aren’t like your Wal-Mart portrait session. When I photograph your wedding or family event, I capture elements that tell that story of the day. This means you can do life, enjoy your party, celebrate, have fun. I’ll be there to capture it.

The Adventurer

A road trip out to Lillooet to camp by a river? An early morning hike up to watch the sunset at Mount Seymour? Leave me in a hammock out in the forest with nothing but the sounds of the birds and creaking of the trees swaying in the wind and I’m the happiest person on earth. If you’re the kind of family who loves the outdoors, I’ll be there to hike and adventure with you too!

The Introverted Gardener

Our dream is to one day own a hobby farm with dogs, goats, alpacas, chickens, and any other critter we can afford to look after. For now, it’s patio robins, chickadees, finches, and our dog, Buhda. Being introverted means I’m a quiet observer. It means I need a bit more time to prepare myself for social interactions. But it doesn’t mean I’m any less than 110% when I work. Being the quiet observer means I notice and capture a lot of moments that many miss.

The Preservationist (Yeah that’s a word!)

One of my favourite things to do is sit with family and look back on memories. My grandparents and parents did an awesome job at keeping photo albums (Yup those peel and stick ones) of memories growing up. This is incredibly special to me as it takes me back to a time that I may not have remembered. It gives me a window into a world of self-discovery and I treasure having these family archives. Your photographs were meant for more than just Instagram and Desktop Wallpapers. Print your memories not just for you, but for your children and your children’s children.

Inclusivity

I identify as a cis-gendered, heterosexual, female. But not everyone identifies the same way. If your path is to marry, have kids, and raise a family, I celebrate you! If you’re unable to have kids and opt for adoption, I support you. If you choose not to have kids and have all the pets in the world, I’m right there with you.
