I’ve grown up always having a dog around. When I was a baby, my parents had bought their first puppy. While living with my grandparents, we had at least a couple running around the yard. Today, we have a fur baby of our own and I couldn’t imagine a day not having one around the house. For those who too have dogs, you’ll know that they’re pretty much family! Dogs have so much to teach us about life. No matter how mad or frustrated you get at them, they are always loyal and always seek your forgiveness. They are such smart creatures with huge personalities of their own and often pick up on some of your traits as well!
A few years ago, our family dog Pepper died just before his favourite holiday. It was probably one of the most heartbreaking times of our lives as a family. Pepper loved Christmas and his favourite thing to do was rip up wrapping paper all morning as we each opened up our gifts. The holidays for us haven’t quite been the same. We’re super grateful for him being in our lives and our memories of him live up on our walls as framed prints now.
I got to hang out with Kerry and his dog Junior, a full-grown boxer! We met up at New Brighton park just behind the PNE. What a gem of a location. It’s located right on the water overlooking North Vancouver and the Ironworkers bridge.
This is one of their favourite parks to enjoy a walk at and you can see why. The view is amazing! We walked, played tag and just enjoyed the sunshine.
Junior is now a big brother to a wee one (baby baby that is, not fur baby 🙂 )
