Stanley Park Rose Garden Elopement | Amy + Nessa

When Amy + Nessa reached out about their intimate Stanley Park Rose Garden elopement, I knew I had to shoot this for them. I teamed up with Second Shooter, Sophie Phan, to document their intimate afternoon together.

There are plus sides to both large wedding celebrations but also small elopements and when deciding how you want to celebrate your love for each other, it’s really important to think about what’s important for you and what you want to take with you into your marriage.

We met A+N in their apartment in Vancouver before heading down to the gardens to get ready. They had the cutest little set up of jewelry and barbie dolls of them that their friends made – how cute! They each picked out cute spring wedding dresses paired with simple gold rings, bracelets and pearls.

Before heading down to the park, each of them called up their families for one last hello before their “I Do’s”. Both mommas hopped on the phone and Skype for a lovely and emotional chit chat.

Shortly after, we popped down towards the Stanley Park Rose Garden where we met up with their friends and witnesses. There was a gorgeous A-Frame arch – handmade by Nessa!!!! How creative is she?! Shawn from Young, Hip and Married arrived a little after and before you knew it, these two lovelies were pouring their hearts out to each other.

They celebrated with a bit of bubbly before heading off to Whytecliff Park where we took some casual photos. How do you celebrate your elopement? A weekend away at on Bowen Island of course!!

Amy + Nessa, thank you for sharing your mini celebration with us. We wish you the best in your marriage together and look forward to keeping up with you on the gram. These two have started an AMAZING vegan cooking Instagram that you have to check out.

A jmeshoots wedding experience doesn’t just stop at great photography. I work with you to help with any wedding planning and drafting of your wedding timeline. Still need to check a few vendors off your list? I have a list of vendors I’ve worked with in the past who I think are awesome and would love to share my list with you! Getting married? I’d love to meet for coffee to learn more about your story and to see if we’re a good fit for each other.
